A triumphant return from NRG!

I’m just returning from retrieving this years pieces from the Houston Rodeo Student Art Contest at the NRG, and what an incredible this year has been! This season was truly epic for Royal ISD’s art program — we had 13 pieces featured in the Haylofts Gallery, our largest showing ever. These works represented students from across the district, including 9 from the high school level. For just a moment I was confused when they brought out 12 pieces and then I remember that Erik sold an auction.
Now I’m headed back to Royal to return the artwork and celebrate this milestone with our amazing teachers and student artists. I couldn’t be prouder of the creativity, dedication, and effort our students poured into their work this year. Each piece tells a story of growth and talent that inspires everyone around them.
This was a huge step forward for our art program with two key milestones: most finalists by far and our first full color piece to go to auction. Here’s to continuing the momentum and seeing even more Royal ISD artists shine next year!
